A Business-Centered Approach

Commerce is the academic field that keeps in close touch with the fast-changing, dynamic economic society in which we live. The Department of Commerce takes an approach based on activities by business corporations operating in this economic society. The word "Commerce" perhaps sounds slightly outdated, but in reality it is the most advanced academic field in the world of business.

In the Department of Commerce we offer knowledge of the business world through these three courses. Together with the students we observe the business world and try to analyze it scientifically. Students learn how to apply the theoretical basics they have learned, but it needs to be stressed here that at our Department the main objective is not to cultivate mere pragmatists. We aim at educating people that will understand the rich history of the business world and who have the ability to deal with an internationalizing world offering a multitude of information that needs to be processed. We hope students will be ready to go out into the world with a wide view of things when they graduate from our department.
