The goal of this class is to make students aware of the differences between English and Japanese that can impact successful language acquisition. To achieve this goal several areas of English and Japanese grammar will be contrasted from a typological perspective. | ||

To increase awareness of the systematic nature of differences between languages and offer a principled way of dealing with language transfer in the process of language acquisition. | ||
