授業の目的・方法
/Course Objectives and method
The aim of this course is to offer an introduction to English Grammar for students interested in a career as English teachers or simply interested in the English language. The course will consist of: preparatory activities for developing the required skills; short lectures; discussions and data collection and analysis.

(a) to familiarize students with the basic terminology of English syntax (grammar) and its meaning (b) to help students understand some of the fundamental distinctions on which grammatical thinking is based and (c) to develop some of the basic skills required for teaching English grammar through English

/Preparation and review class
Each week, you will watch a short video and answer some questions on Edpuzzle or you will be assigned reading materials. In class, we will have discussions based on the content of the video or text and your answers to the questions.

成績評価の基準
/Grading Criteria
Grading will reflect the degree of achievement of goals a-c as follows:
100-90: exceptional contribution to the class
89-80: strong performance
79-70: meets expectations
69-60: meets expectations with support
59-0: performs below expectations
Goals:
(a) has mastered the appropriate linguistic terminology
(b) shows understanding of linguistic concepts and methods
(c) is capable to apply the concepts and methods to new data
