授業の目的・方法
/Course Objectives and method
The course will engage students with content-rich, but familiar topics through readings, listening passages, and simple discussions in small groups and short presentations.  The aim is to complete communication tasks in the text; improve student's English communication skills through reading short texts and discussing them; learning about and practicing presentation skills in class; and completing brief writing assignments on a choice of related topics.
Real time online lessons will follow a set pattern of warm up talks and discussions on the unit topic, pre-reading and reading tasks, followed by comprehension checks. Output tasks follow a planning, discussion, practice, report cycle. Extension activities based on a listening passage will be followed by consolidation tasks including a brief speech and self-evaluation.  Tasks are done in small groups or pairs using zoom breakout rooms.
Additional self-study using an online learning management system (LMS) will give students practice and reinforcement and will be a part of the course evaluation.
