授業の目的・方法
/Course Objectives and method
The purpose of this course is to make you aware of good strategies for reading. You should choose appropriate strategies to apply when you read. This course is also intended to help students become more comfortable reading and writing in English. The text emphasizes types of paragraph organization. Students read models of each type and consider the relationships among pieces of information in the paragraphs.
達成目標
/Course Goals
The goal of this class is to teach students about the organization of English paragraphs from the point of view of both readers and writers. This includes helping students learn to find the main idea of a paragraph and analyze how the ideas are related and organized. In addition, we will learn about American culture as well as the cultures of other countries.
授業内容
/Course contents
I will give you the class plan the first day of class.

We will be concentrating on the Reading sections of the TEOIC for this class. When I taught this class last, there were many successful students who could get a higher score on their TOEIC test when they took it in July. Some were even over 700!

Please understand that you will need to use a computer since the class may be online.
There will be many subjects on the website for you to study.
What you need to bring to this class is a relaxed attitude towards English.

RULE: There will be many assignments online in this class. It is your responsibility to make sure you have properly submitted the assignment so that I may be able to see it online. If you do not tell me if you are having problems or do not understand the system or the procedures, I will not give you points for the assignment, even though you may have done it. I will try to have a list every class of those who have submitted the assignments.
