| 授業の目的・方法 ／Course Objectives and method |
The aim of this course is to improve all four skills with special focus on speaking and listening. The instructor will provide materials about various topics. The students will be asked to make presentations regularly. | ||

Through this course, students will practice listening and speaking about everyday topics from an intercultural perspective; making short English presentations, expressing and defending their opinions. | ||

We will spend two classes per topic. During the first class we will explore the topic and the relevant language, during the following class students will make presentations and hold discussions. Not all the topics above will be covered. We will choose from the topics above on the basis of class level and student preferences. | ||

Grading will reflect the degree of achievement of goals a-c as follows: master appropriate vocabulary and grammar make a presentation in English contribute to class discussion 100-90: exceptional contribution to the class 89-80: strong performance 79-70: meets expectations 69-60: meets expectations with support 59-0: performs below expectations |
