授業の目的・方法
/Course Objectives and method
The aim of this course is to offer students an opportunity to develop fundamental English communication skills.  The lessons will include listening and speaking activities, pronunciation and intonation activities, structured discussion, and problem-solving activities.

Students should be able comprehend and voice their opinions on the topics presented in the units. They will also be expected to write short report papers on the subjects studied in the book or presented in class.

30% - attendance and participation in class
10% - homework
20% - roleplay
40% - mid-term and final exams
成績評価の基準
/Grading Criteria
- There must be a balance between the percentages listed in “Grading”, that means, for example, a student CANNOT get 40% on the exams and do not hand in homework assignments. To get a passing grade, students must get at least 60% in each of the categories.

- Missing more than 5 classes results in automatic failure - Absences will affect the final grade. - Homework assignments will have to be posted on the class Moodle page
