| 授業の目的・方法 ／Course Objectives and method |
The course covers standard topics of microeconomics. We will study classic topics in perfect competition beginning by consumer theory, the rest of which is studied by Intermediate Microeconomics. This is the absolute must to Intermediate Microeconomics. | ||

| 授業内容 ／Course contents |
Students are expected to enjoy arguments with mathematics although the required level is not so high. You should not take this course if you do not know calculus and algebra. We plan to review them when needed. I will tailor the course according to the students' technical preparedness and make the course self-contained. That said, I suppose the students to be either those who have prior knowledge of microeconomics or who are fairly good at the mathematics above mentioned. The only caution to give is: you should not take this course if you will shy away from equations! No attitude lacking sufficient respect in a class room is tolerated. Students who behave in such a way are immediately excluded. |

We plan to use Hal Varian's ``Intermediate Microeconomics: a Modern Approach'' Norton, 2003 as a textbook. | ||
| 成績評価の方法 ／Grading |
Evaluation will be made principally on the exam at the end of the term and class time attitude. We plan to cover Ch1 to Ch16 but as a matter of course, we cannot cover everything depending on available time. For detail, please refer to the table of content of the textbook. |
