1. Undergraduate Student
This is a four-year undergraduate program that leads to a Bachelor of Arts
(Commerce). The applicant must have graduated from a high school at the time of enrollment or must have been
admitted as having an equivalent scholarship, and must have taken the japanese Language Proficiency Test. The selection of applicants is based on the
results of the Examinations for japanese
University Admission for International Students and the japanese Language
Proficiency Test, an essay, interview,GPA and health examination.
2. Graduate Student
This is a two-year graduate program that
leads to a Master of Arts (Commerce). The
applicant must have a bachelor degree at
the time of enrollment or must have been
admitted as having an equivalent scholarship. The selection of
applicants is based on the result of the scholarship
examination, the purpose of study, study
plan, interview, GPA and health examination.
3. Research Student
This is a student who stays at the university for more than six months
and less than a year in principle (the length of stay can be extended by a year maximum) and studies for a particular
topic.

Credited Auditor
This is a student that can take specific
credits in the undergraduate or graduate school. The applicant to the undergraduate
school must have graduated from a high school at the time of enrollment
or must have been admitted as having an equivalent scholarship, and the applicant to the graduate school must have a bachelor degree at the time of
enrollment or must have been admitted as having an
equivalent scholarship. The length of study is one semester or two. The
applicant must submit application
documents and must be approved by the instructors
of the credits that the applicant wants to
take.
5. Exchange Student (YOUC Program)
This is an exchange student from the
universities that have concluded a student exchange agreement with Otaru
University of Commerce. The student can study at Otaru University of Commerce for a year keeping registration with the home university. The
student is required to return to the home university on the completion of the program.
The applicant must have finished his/her
second year in a japanese university at the time of enrollment, or must
have been admitted as having an equivalent scholarship. The selection of applicants is based on the application documents.
