授業の目的・方法
/Course Objectives and method
In the era of big data, social science research providing empirical evidence through data analysis has surged. In this lecture, we learn basic statistical methods and programming techniques for social science. Particularly, we focus on how to use the statistical software "R" to answer social scientific questions.

By the end of this course, students will be able to:
・Understand the basic concepts of quantitative social science.
・Learn how to read statistical data.
・Learn programming statistical software "R"

/Preparation and review class
Students are required to complete several assignments during the semester. In addition, students will prepare for group presentations that analyze aspects of society with data using R.

Students need to bring their own laptops to the class.
Lecture slides will be posted on Manaba before each class. Additional reading materials (if any) will be announced during the semester.
