This course will guide the students through the cultures of Eurasia through lecture, reading, discussion, and audiovisual materials. | ||

To enhance one's knowledge on the diverse cultural spectrum of Eurasia. | ||
| 授業内容 /Course contents |
In each class, the instructor will give a 30 minute lecture on a specific region of the Eurasian continent. During the next 30 minutes, the students will form a round table and consult library books provided by the instructor to learn more about the region discussed in class. The last 30 minutes of class will involve each student presenting some interesting facts they have learned from the books to the rest of the class and watching a related YouTube video. | ||

| 成績評価の方法 /Grading |
The attendance consists of 40% of the total grade. Absence for a justifiable reason will not be counted toward the attendance grade. The final talk will count for the 60% of the total grade. It can be on any topic related to "Hokkaido and the World" (the interaction between Hokkaido culture and a foreign culture). Each student will be asked to present one photograph they took and give a five-minute talk about it to other students, without using any slides, scripts, or handouts. |
