| 授業の目的・方法 ／Course Objectives and method |
The objective of this course is to improve presentation, reading and writing skills in English, via going through an academic textbook. After giving presentation of a chapter, presenters answer questions from classmates. At the end of the course, students will write a squib or a term paper relevant to the content and give class presentation on it. | ||

Students will familiarize themselves with an academic textbook and oral presentation in English. Writing skills will be enhanced too. |

| 授業内容 ／Course contents |
In the first class, students will decide which chapter to present and prepare in-class presentations of the chapter. Students are expected to read each chapter before the class and prepare for the vocabulary and comprehension quiz. They will take turns in becoming a chairperson of the day, and also ask questions when listening to the classmates' presentations. | ||

lass activity (presentation, quiz results, (active) participation): 60% Term paper or a squib: 40% 60% of grading will be based on class activities that includes: group presentation, quiz results, participation in Q&A discussion and others 40% of evaluation will be on the term paper: originality or uniqueness: 40% comprehension of the course material 30% English writing skills: 30% |
