授業の目的・方法
/Course Objectives and method
Course Objectives
The objectives of this course are to instruct the students in the understanding of testing, how to analyze tests, to make a test from scratch and to analyze a test on their own. The class will progress mainly in lectures and demonstrations.

/Course Goals
By the end of the course, you will be able to:
--Understand fundamental concepts and principles of psychometric measurement as well as strategies for alternative/performance assessment
--Learn how to construct language tests for various skills and various measurement purposes
--Learn how to analyze tests, interpret test results, and utilize test results to improve quality of tests
--Evaluate various assessment approaches appropriate for language learning
--Examine current trends and problems in language testing and evaluate the role of testing and evaluation in the overall FL/L2 curriculum

/Grading
Grading will be based on attendance (20%), participation in class (30%); data analysis assignments (30%) and a test that you make (20%).
成績評価の基準
/Grading Criteria
00-90 Understands the content of the course exceptionally well, attends the class and participates very well in the class, passes in the data assignments on time, is not late to class, and does very well on the test(s)
89-80 Understands the content of the course well, attends the class and participates well in the class, is not late to class, passes in the data assignments, and does well on the test(s)
79-70 Understands the content of the course to a basic level, attends the class and participates in the class, is not late to class, passes in the data assignments, and passes the test(s)
69-60 Understands the content of the course somewhat, attends the class and participates in the class, is not late to class, passes in the data assignments, and passes the test(s)
59- Does not understand the content of the course, has poor attendance or is often late, does not pass in the data assignments, and does very poorly on the test(s)
