授業の目的・方法 /Course Objectives and method |
This is a graduate course with varied topics, and is intended for students taking the graduate teacher training specialization. This semester, the focus will be on Language Learning and Language Teaching, and will focus each week on an individual teaching skill. Students should either (1) have taken the undergraduate course 言語学概論, or (2) have already read thoroughly the text Language and Our World (Clankie/Kobayashi). This class is a continuation of that first course and this first course is a prerequisite for this course. | ||

In the undergraduate 言語学概論 class we studied the basic linguistic ideas that Jr. and Sr. teachers should be aware of. This semester we will move from theoretical concepts to applied (classroom-oriented) idea and concepts for teaching English and other languages. | ||

Demonstrated knowledge of the subject matter in this class and the ability to apply that knowledge are very important. If you are passive participant in the course, you will fail. There will also be one or two research presentations, expanding on a topic we covered in the course where you will be expected to demonstrate that ability. | ||
