授業の目的・方法 /Course Objectives and method |
The aim of this course is to provide understanding of basic linguistic theories useful to teach English. The course demonstrates how linguistic information helps learners to deepen knowledge on English language. In particular, comprehension of sentence structures assists educators to answer questions on English grammar. The study of meaning of words, phrases and sentence-level assists acquisition of the sense of a language. Morphological knowledge about subunits of words broadens lexical information. |
達成目標 /Course Goals |
Students will be able to explain the structure of English sentences systematically after taking this course. Participants will also be eligible for instructing meaning of sentences and word formation at the basic level. |

40% of grading is based on the term paper and 60% depends on class activities. Class activity includes: presentation, quiz results, participation in Q&A discussion and others |
