/Course Objectives and method
With the rapid advancement of technology and enhanced transnational movements of products and services since the 1960’s, international strategies and marketing have become a vital part of any companies or organisations that operate, or aim to operate, their business on a global scale. This course is designed to equip students with timeless wisdom from the key classic texts as well as the most updated knowledge from the recent literature on global strategies and marketing. In doing so, the course allows students to develop knowledge, skills and abilities to critically discuss challenges and potential solutions for Japanese companies to expand internationally or overseas companies to operate successfully in Japan. The course is composed mainly by student seminars, class discussions on key readings from English language academic literature and student presentations on their case studies of international strategies or marketing.
