| 授業の目的・方法 /Course Objectives and method |
This course aims to improve your English communication skills through: - Examining English language advertisements; - Learning about and practicing presentation skills in class - Writing essays on class topics - Group projects - Making an Advertising Campaign - making a TV commercial, a radio advert and a flier to advertise a product. During the course each group gives two class presentations. |

| 達成目標 /Course Goals |
Weekly Contents - Learning advertising vocabulary. - Discussions, presentations, developing persuasion and advertising strategies. - Homework: reading and writing assignments; preparing group project. Group Project - Choose a product or service and design an advertising campaign for it. Investigate and analyse the advertising campaign of a similar product/service to the one your group has chosen. Present your findings to the class (Nov). - Design and make a flier/pamphlet and a TV advert for your group's product/service and give a 15 minute presentation of your campaign (Feb). |

Presentation 1 & Report 30% Presentation 2 & Report 40% Weekly writing assignments: 30% Students are expected to attend class, participate fully and use only English. This class requires preparation time outside class every week to do written homework and project work. |

| 成績評価の基準 /Grading Criteria |
秀」Very fluent communication in written & spoken English. Confident & proficient presentation skills. 「優」Fluent & accurate communication in written & spoken English. Good presentation skills 「良」Quite confident & accurate in spoken & written English on general topics. Clear presentations, but problems with fluency and vocabulary 「可」Basic communication in spoken & written English: reasonable fluency with some basic errors. Short presentations in slow, hesitant English with memorized script. |
