| 授業の目的・方法 ／Course Objectives and method |
• To increase your confidence and fluency in communicating in English • To develop your speaking, listening and writing skills The focus is on language fluency. Students should participate fully in the class and use only English to communicate. Every lesson has speaking and writing activities that are based on a weekly topic. In addition, during the course, students will carry out a questionnaire-based research project in groups, presenting their findings to the rest of the class at the end of the course. |

| 達成目標 ／Course Goals |
By the end of the course students will have: - completed at least 10 short essays in English in a number of styles - expository, descriptive, narrative, discursive; - given a 10 minute presentation in English to the rest of the class about a simple research topic they have carried out; - learned basic discussion skills: presenting, justifying and defending their own opinions; understanding and criticising other people's opinions. Class Activities • Discussions, interviews, role-plays, vocabulary tests reading and commenting on each others' writing. • Group project: investigate a topic related to everyday life and present your information in English to the rest of the class. Homework • Weekly essay (200~300 words) • Studying vocabulary • Project/presentation preparation • Discussion Forum - Read comments posted by your classmates and write your own comments. |

| 成績評価の基準 ／Grading Criteria |
「秀」Very fluent communication in written & spoken English. Confident & proficient presentation skills. 「優」Fluent & accurate communication in written & spoken English. Good presentation skills 「良」Quite confident & accurate in spoken & written English on general topics. Clear presentations, but problems with fluency and vocabulary 「可」Basic communication in spoken & written English: reasonable fluency with some basic errors. Short presentations in slow, hesitant English with memorized script. |
