授業の目的・方法
/Course Objectives and method
This course aims to improve your English 'communication skills' and 'creative thinking' through:
- Enhancing creative and critical thinking
- Examining excellent TED talks
- Developing reading skills
- Discussing a given topic
- Practicing presentation skills
- Undertaking a project – a sort of your own TED talk  
- Writing answers to tasks

At a class, you may work with two other partners for various tasks.

/Course Goals
- Acquiring presentations skills:
Non verbal: delivery, gestures, voice tones and pitches etc;  Verbal:presenting clear, concise, coherent questions, explanations, ideas etc     
- Familiarizing different English styles through reading and watching various materials
- Enhancing vocabulary of the current socio-cultural issues
- Developing creative and critical thinking
- Improving and practicing discussion skills

履修上の注意事項
/Remarks
予習と復習が必要です。 たとえば、教材に付属DVDで、良いTED TALKのグループでの研究も必要となります。

- Homework: analyzing Ted Talks with your partners; reading and writing assignments; preparing a short TED talk.
