授業の目的・方法
/Course Objectives and method
Narrative is the most widely used discourse genre and has the inherent power to encourage meaningful interaction and discussion.  This course offers a communicative engagement with narrative readings. The stories featured use common idioms and highlight points of cultural interest.  In the lesson students, will be encouraged to use discourse connectors (so, but, and , because etc.), and also use picture prompts to develop fluency through repeated retelling.

Students will learn common idioms,
Students will develop fluency through oral repetition (i.e., frequent retelling),
Students will develop confidence at managing basic narrative discourse structure in oral communication.
